The following notes apply to the related species E. vitifolia-previously known as Anemone vitifolia) In traditional medicine: The fresh root is antirheumatic and vermifuge[Duke. J. A. and Ayensu. E. S. Medicinal Plants of China Reference Publications, Inc. 1985 ]. The juice from the roots is taken internally in the treatment of dysentery. It is also applied to aching teeth to relieve the pain and to the forehead to relieve headaches. A paste made from the roots is used externally to treat scabies. The leaves are powdered and rubbed into the scalp to treat head lice[Manandhar. N. P. Plants and People of Nepal Timber Press. Oregon. 2002].
