Special events for 2026
Charity openings and garden lectures
We will be participating in two open days for charity in 2026: the London Open Gardens on Saturday 6 June (10am to 5pm), and the National Garden Scheme on Monday 29 June (12 noon to 4pm). Our expert team of physicians will be giving free guided tours at both events and light refreshments will be available to purchase.
Our popular garden lecture series will return on 1 June when the topic will be Ayurveda and traditional medicine from the Indian subcontinent.
Dr Suzanne Newcombe, Visiting Research Fellow, King’s College London - The Indigenous Drugs of India and Accusations of Quackery.
Dr Karen O'Brien-Kop, Lecturer in Modern Asian Religions, King’s College London - Colonial circulations of Ayurvedic medicinal plants: From Kolkata to Kew.
On the 27 July the topic will be Traditional Medicine from Iran and China
Dr Hormoz Ebrahimnejad, Lecturer in History at the University of Southampton - How modern medical discourse and practice were received, perceived, and articulated by traditional medicine in Iran since the early nineteenth century.
Dr.Vivienne Lo, director of the China Centre for Health and Humanity University College London -The Ancient Domestic Medico-Culinary Traditions of China (and beyond).
Both dates will be available to attend both in person and online via the RCP Player. Garden tours are included for those attending in person.
